East Godavari trains 356.2 youth per lakh under short-term skilling programmes, better than the typical district. 42.6% of young women aged 15 to 21 are out of education, behind the typical district. The Jan Shikshan Sansthan focuses non-formal skilling on dropouts and women who need a route back into livelihoods without returning to a classroom.
76% of registered enterprises are in services while 24% are in manufacturing. Only 8% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. 69% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12). 67% of ITI trainers are certified.
In East Godavari, which ranks 9 of 27 in Andhra Pradesh for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 48 out of 100. It trails the national picture on women in the labour force at 34.8%. On skilling trainees who get certified at 92.8%, it sits close to the national mark.
