Eluru has 995.3 ITI seats per lakh youth, better than the typical district. Of these, 31.2% sit in government institutes, behind the typical district. The Private ITI fills the remaining share of trade training capacity in the district.
78% of registered enterprises are in services while 22% are in manufacturing. Only 2% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. Only 54% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12). 50% of ITI trainers are certified.
In Eluru, which ranks 21 of 27 in Andhra Pradesh for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 45.3 out of 100. It trails the national picture on skilling enrolment per lakh youth at 69.4 and apprentices per lakh youth at 181.8.
