80% of registered enterprises are in services while 20% are in manufacturing. Only 2% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. 68% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12).
In Palnadu, which ranks 22 of 27 in Andhra Pradesh for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 44.5 out of 100. It trails the national picture on ITI seats in government institutes at 5.5%. On skilling trainees who get certified at 94%, it sits close to the national mark.
