West Godavari has 1,234.7 ITI seats per lakh youth, better than the typical district. Of these, 10.4% sit in government institutes, behind the typical district. The Private ITI fills the remaining share of trade training capacity in the district.
75% of registered enterprises are in services while 25% are in manufacturing. Only 9% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. 63% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12). 53% of ITI trainers are certified.
In West Godavari, which ranks 11 of 27 in Andhra Pradesh for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 47.6 out of 100. It runs ahead of the national picture on skilling enrolment per lakh youth at 332.7 and apprentices per lakh youth at 410.8.
