73% of registered enterprises are in services while 27% are in manufacturing. Only 4% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. Only 56% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12). Only 36% of ITI trainers are certified.
In Ysr, which ranks 10 of 27 in Andhra Pradesh for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 47.8 out of 100. It trails the national picture on ITI seats in government institutes at 23.3%. On skilling trainees who get certified at 92.8%, it sits close to the national mark.
