Ysr has 1,704.7 ITI seats per lakh youth, better than the typical district. Of these, 23.3% sit in government institutes, behind the typical district. The Private ITI fills the remaining share of trade training capacity in the district.
73% of registered enterprises are in services while 27% are in manufacturing. Only 4% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. Only 56% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12). Only 36% of ITI trainers are certified.
In Ysr, which ranks 10 of 27 in Andhra Pradesh for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 47.8 out of 100. It runs ahead of the national picture on skilling enrolment per lakh youth at 356.3 and apprentices per lakh youth at 807.8.
