Shi Yomi trains 1,137.7 youth per lakh under short-term skilling programmes, better than the typical district. 31.3% of young women aged 15 to 21 are out of education, close to the typical district. The Jan Shikshan Sansthan focuses non-formal skilling on dropouts and women who need a route back into livelihoods without returning to a classroom.
85% of registered enterprises are in services while 15% are in manufacturing. Only 30% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12).
In Shi Yomi, which ranks 22 of 27 in Arunachal Pradesh for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 46 out of 100. It runs ahead of the national picture on women in the labour force at 64.5%. On skilling trainees who get certified at 100%, it sits close to the national mark.
