70% of registered enterprises are in services while 30% are in manufacturing. Only 7% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. Only 50% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12).
In Tirap, which ranks 15 of 27 in Arunachal Pradesh for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 50 out of 100. It trails the national picture on skilling trainees who get certified at 82.4% and self-employed workers at 70.2%. On women-owned enterprises at 19.2% and young people in the labour force aged 15 to 29 at 50.1%, it sits close to the national mark.
