The Jan Shikshan Sansthan focuses non-formal skilling on dropouts and women who need a route back into livelihoods without returning to a classroom.
76% of registered enterprises are in services while 24% are in manufacturing. Only 7% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. Only 46% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12).
In West Siang, which ranks 14 of 27 in Arunachal Pradesh for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 50.2 out of 100. It runs ahead of the national picture on women in the labour force at 63.3%. On skilling trainees who get certified at 100%, it sits close to the national mark.
