The Jan Shikshan Sansthan focuses non-formal skilling on dropouts and women who need a route back into livelihoods without returning to a classroom.
72% of registered enterprises are in services while 28% are in manufacturing. 70% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12).
In Majuli, which ranks 22 of 35 in Assam for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 44.2 out of 100. On skilling trainees who get certified at 90.2% and women in the labour force at 52.6%, it sits close to the national mark.
