Araria has 161.1 ITI seats per lakh youth, behind the typical district. Of these, 71.6% sit in government institutes, better than the typical district. The Private ITI fills the remaining share of trade training capacity in the district.
77% of registered enterprises are in services while 23% are in manufacturing. Only 4% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. Only 36% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12). Only 44% of ITI trainers are certified.
