The Jan Shikshan Sansthan focuses non-formal skilling on dropouts and women who need a route back into livelihoods without returning to a classroom.
80% of registered enterprises are in services while 20% are in manufacturing. Only 3% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. 66% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12). Only 28% of ITI trainers are certified.
In Bemetara, which ranks 10 of 33 in Chhattisgarh for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 45.9 out of 100. It runs ahead of the national picture on women in the labour force at 74.3%. On skilling trainees who get certified at 95.8%, it sits close to the national mark.
