The Jan Shikshan Sansthan focuses non-formal skilling on dropouts and women who need a route back into livelihoods without returning to a classroom.
79% of registered enterprises are in services while 21% are in manufacturing. Only 2% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. Only 46% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12).
In Bijapur, which ranks 32 of 33 in Chhattisgarh for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 39.6 out of 100. It runs ahead of the national picture on women in the labour force at 72.1%. On skilling trainees who get certified at 90.9%, it sits close to the national mark.
