80% of registered enterprises are in services while 20% are in manufacturing. Only 3% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. Only 42% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12). Only 12% of ITI trainers are certified.
In Korea, which ranks 23 of 33 in Chhattisgarh for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 42.5 out of 100. On women-owned enterprises at 8.7%, it sits close to the national mark. The district has 8,091 registered service enterprises.
