80% of registered enterprises are in services while 20% are in manufacturing. Only 3% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. Only 42% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12). Only 12% of ITI trainers are certified.
In Korea, which ranks 23 of 33 in Chhattisgarh for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 42.5 out of 100. It trails the national picture on higher-education enrolment at 12.4%. On class 9 pupils at grade level in maths at 34% and schools with usable girls' toilets at 95.6%, it sits close to the national mark.
