East Delhi trains 193.9 youth per lakh under short-term skilling programmes, behind the typical district. 13.2% of young women aged 15 to 21 are out of education, better than the typical district. The Jan Shikshan Sansthan focuses non-formal skilling on dropouts and women who need a route back into livelihoods without returning to a classroom.
74% of registered enterprises are in services while 26% are in manufacturing. Only 13% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. 85% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12). Only 15% of ITI trainers are certified.
In East Delhi, which ranks 4 of 11 in Delhi for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 64.1 out of 100. It trails the national picture on women in the labour force at 21.9%. On skilling trainees who get certified at 92.4%, it sits close to the national mark.
