East Delhi has 361.3 ITI seats per lakh youth, behind the typical district. Of these, 75.8% sit in government institutes, better than the typical district. The Private ITI fills the remaining share of trade training capacity in the district.
74% of registered enterprises are in services while 26% are in manufacturing. Only 13% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. 85% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12). Only 15% of ITI trainers are certified.
In East Delhi, which ranks 4 of 11 in Delhi for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 64.1 out of 100. The district runs ahead of the national picture on apprentices per lakh youth at 6,092.2, while it lags on skilling enrolment per lakh youth at 193.9.
