Shahdara trains 193.9 youth per lakh under short-term skilling programmes, behind the typical district. 28.2% of young women aged 15 to 21 are out of education, better than the typical district. The Jan Shikshan Sansthan focuses non-formal skilling on dropouts and women who need a route back into livelihoods without returning to a classroom.
66% of registered enterprises are in services while 34% are in manufacturing. Only 10% of employment is in small and medium enterprises.
In Shahdara, which ranks 10 of 11 in Delhi for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 58.7 out of 100. It trails the national picture on women in the labour force at 11.4%. On skilling trainees who get certified at 88%, it sits close to the national mark.
