74% of registered enterprises are in services while 26% are in manufacturing. Only 12% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. 85% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12). Only 11% of ITI trainers are certified.
In West Delhi, which ranks 5 of 11 in Delhi for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 63.1 out of 100. The district runs ahead of the national picture on apprentices per lakh youth at 6,092.2, while it lags on skilling enrolment per lakh youth at 193.9.
