83% of registered enterprises are in services while 17% are in manufacturing. Only 7% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. 75% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12). Only 37% of ITI trainers are certified.
In North Goa, which ranks 1 of 2 in Goa for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 65.6 out of 100. It runs ahead of the national picture on self-employed workers at 33.3% and young people in the labour force aged 15 to 29 at 54.7%. On skilling trainees who get certified at 100% and women-owned enterprises at 19.2%, it sits close to the national mark.
