The Jan Shikshan Sansthan focuses non-formal skilling on dropouts and women who need a route back into livelihoods without returning to a classroom.
84% of registered enterprises are in services while 16% are in manufacturing. Only 7% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. Higher secondary enrollment (classes 9–12) is 108%, likely reflecting students enrolling from neighbouring areas. Only 36% of ITI trainers are certified.
In South Goa, which ranks 2 of 2 in Goa for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 62.9 out of 100. It trails the national picture on women in the labour force at 34.4%. On skilling trainees who get certified at 95.1%, it sits close to the national mark.
