78% of registered enterprises are in services while 22% are in manufacturing. Only 13% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. Only 51% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12).
In Kachchh, which ranks 14 of 33 in Gujarat for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 48.3 out of 100. On women-owned enterprises at 36.5%, it sits close to the national mark. The district has 89,348 registered service enterprises.
