Kachchh has 7.3 public libraries per 10 lakh population, better than the typical district. 9.7% of women read a newspaper regularly, behind the typical district. 30.5% use the internet, close to the typical district. The Public Library remains one of the few free, physical spaces for reading and study in the district.
78% of registered enterprises are in services while 22% are in manufacturing. Only 13% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. Only 44% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12). Only 11% of ITI trainers are certified.
In Kachchh, which ranks 15 of 33 in Gujarat for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 48.3 out of 100. It runs ahead of the national picture on young men who read a newspaper regularly at 29.7% and young men using the internet at 67.5%.
