82% of registered enterprises are in services while 18% are in manufacturing. Only 3% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. Only 44% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12). Only 11% of ITI trainers are certified.
In Narmada, which ranks 20 of 33 in Gujarat for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 46.7 out of 100. On women-owned enterprises at 18.7%, it sits close to the national mark. The district has 7,038 registered service enterprises.
