Narmada trains 245.3 youth per lakh under short-term skilling programmes, close to the typical district. 54.3% of young women aged 15 to 21 are out of education, behind the typical district. The Jan Shikshan Sansthan focuses non-formal skilling on dropouts and women who need a route back into livelihoods without returning to a classroom.
82% of registered enterprises are in services while 18% are in manufacturing. Only 3% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. Only 44% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12). Only 11% of ITI trainers are certified.
In Narmada, which ranks 20 of 33 in Gujarat for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 46.7 out of 100. It runs ahead of the national picture on women in the labour force at 61.1%. On skilling trainees who get certified at 90.3%, it sits close to the national mark.
