The Jan Shikshan Sansthan focuses non-formal skilling on dropouts and women who need a route back into livelihoods without returning to a classroom.
78% of registered enterprises are in services while 22% are in manufacturing. Only 6% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. Only 46% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12). Only 23% of ITI trainers are certified.
In Tapi, which ranks 17 of 33 in Gujarat for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 48.1 out of 100. It runs ahead of the national picture on women in the labour force at 61.1%. On skilling trainees who get certified at 95%, it sits close to the national mark.
