76% of registered enterprises are in services while 24% are in manufacturing. Only 6% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. Only 56% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12). Only 39% of ITI trainers are certified.
In Jind, which ranks 12 of 22 in Haryana for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 53.1 out of 100. It runs ahead of the national picture on skilling enrolment per lakh youth at 587.4 and apprentices per lakh youth at 951.5.
