76% of registered enterprises are in services while 24% are in manufacturing. Only 6% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. Only 56% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12). Only 39% of ITI trainers are certified.
In Jind, which ranks 12 of 22 in Haryana for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 53.1 out of 100. It trails the national picture on young people in the labour force aged 15 to 29 at 41%. On skilling trainees who get certified at 96.4%, self-employed workers at 57.2% and women-owned enterprises at 21.5%, it sits close to the national mark.
