The Jan Shikshan Sansthan focuses non-formal skilling on dropouts and women who need a route back into livelihoods without returning to a classroom.
77% of registered enterprises are in services while 23% are in manufacturing. Only 9% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. 64% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12). Only 28% of ITI trainers are certified.
In Karnal, which ranks 13 of 22 in Haryana for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 52.9 out of 100. It trails the national picture on women in the labour force at 31.3%. On skilling trainees who get certified at 95.8%, it sits close to the national mark.
