Palamu has 745.9 ITI seats per lakh youth, close to the typical district. Of these, 26.2% sit in government institutes, behind the typical district. The Private ITI fills the remaining share of trade training capacity in the district.
82% of registered enterprises are in services while 18% are in manufacturing. Only 3% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. 67% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12). Only 20% of ITI trainers are certified.
