The Jan Shikshan Sansthan focuses non-formal skilling on dropouts and women who need a route back into livelihoods without returning to a classroom.
77% of registered enterprises are in services while 23% are in manufacturing. Only 13% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. Only 34% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12). 74% of ITI trainers are certified.
In Bengaluru Urban, which ranks 1 of 31 in Karnataka for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 65.2 out of 100. It trails the national picture on women in the labour force at 37.7%. On skilling trainees who get certified at 96%, it sits close to the national mark.
