Bengaluru Urban has 356 ITI seats per lakh youth, behind the typical district. Of these, 60.9% sit in government institutes, close to the typical district. The Private ITI fills the remaining share of trade training capacity in the district.
77% of registered enterprises are in services while 23% are in manufacturing. Only 13% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. Only 34% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12). 74% of ITI trainers are certified.
In Bengaluru Urban, which ranks 1 of 31 in Karnataka for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 65.2 out of 100. It runs ahead of the national picture on skilling enrolment per lakh youth at 299.5 and apprentices per lakh youth at 8,051.7.
