Bidar trains 553.8 youth per lakh under short-term skilling programmes, better than the typical district. 15.7% of young women aged 15 to 21 are out of education, better than the typical district. The Jan Shikshan Sansthan focuses non-formal skilling on dropouts and women who need a route back into livelihoods without returning to a classroom.
83% of registered enterprises are in services while 17% are in manufacturing. Only 4% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. Only 53% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12). 69% of ITI trainers are certified.
In Bidar, which ranks 23 of 31 in Karnataka for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 46.1 out of 100. It trails the national picture on women in the labour force at 19.6%. On skilling trainees who get certified at 96.5%, it sits close to the national mark.
