Haveri trains 302.8 youth per lakh under short-term skilling programmes, better than the typical district. 32.2% of young women aged 15 to 21 are out of education, close to the typical district. The Jan Shikshan Sansthan focuses non-formal skilling on dropouts and women who need a route back into livelihoods without returning to a classroom.
80% of registered enterprises are in services while 20% are in manufacturing. Only 4% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. Only 59% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12). 50% of ITI trainers are certified.
In Haveri, which ranks 28 of 31 in Karnataka for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 44.5 out of 100. On skilling trainees who get certified at 97.6% and women in the labour force at 45.1%, it sits close to the national mark.
