Leh has 639.2 ITI seats per lakh youth, close to the typical district. Of these, 100% sit in government institutes, better than the typical district. The Private ITI fills the remaining share of trade training capacity in the district.
78% of registered enterprises are in services while 22% are in manufacturing. Only 5% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. Only 55% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12). Only 15% of ITI trainers are certified.
