Betul trains 551.7 youth per lakh under short-term skilling programmes, better than the typical district. 48.1% of young women aged 15 to 21 are out of education, behind the typical district. The Jan Shikshan Sansthan focuses non-formal skilling on dropouts and women who need a route back into livelihoods without returning to a classroom.
82% of registered enterprises are in services while 18% are in manufacturing. Only 3% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. Only 47% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12). Only 49% of ITI trainers are certified.
In Betul, which ranks 8 of 55 in Madhya Pradesh for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 46.5 out of 100. On skilling trainees who get certified at 96.3% and women in the labour force at 45.6%, it sits close to the national mark.
