Damoh trains 499.4 youth per lakh under short-term skilling programmes, better than the typical district. 56.1% of young women aged 15 to 21 are out of education, behind the typical district. The Jan Shikshan Sansthan focuses non-formal skilling on dropouts and women who need a route back into livelihoods without returning to a classroom.
81% of registered enterprises are in services while 19% are in manufacturing. Only 3% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. Only 55% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12). Only 46% of ITI trainers are certified.
In Damoh, which ranks 32 of 55 in Madhya Pradesh for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 42.9 out of 100. It runs ahead of the national picture on women in the labour force at 63.6%. On skilling trainees who get certified at 97.9%, it sits close to the national mark.
