The Jan Shikshan Sansthan focuses non-formal skilling on dropouts and women who need a route back into livelihoods without returning to a classroom.
79% of registered enterprises are in services while 21% are in manufacturing. Only 4% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. Only 42% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12). Only 37% of ITI trainers are certified.
In Ratlam, which ranks 18 of 55 in Madhya Pradesh for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 44.8 out of 100. It runs ahead of the national picture on women in the labour force at 59.2%. On skilling trainees who get certified at 99%, it sits close to the national mark.
