Dharashiv has 27 public libraries per 10 lakh population, better than the typical district. 11.7% of women read a newspaper regularly, close to the typical district. 21.3% use the internet, behind the typical district. The Public Library remains one of the few free, physical spaces for reading and study in the district.
78% of registered enterprises are in services while 22% are in manufacturing. Only 2% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. Only 55% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12). Only 21% of ITI trainers are certified.
In Dharashiv, which ranks 22 of 36 in Maharashtra for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 44.8 out of 100. The district runs ahead of the national picture on young men who read a newspaper regularly at 44.3%, while it lags on young men using the internet at 45.3%.
