The Jan Shikshan Sansthan focuses non-formal skilling on dropouts and women who need a route back into livelihoods without returning to a classroom.
41% of registered enterprises are in services while 59% are in manufacturing. Only 25% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12).
In Kamjong, which ranks 13 of 16 in Manipur for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 48.1 out of 100. It trails the national picture on skilling trainees who get certified at 84.6%. On women in the labour force at 48.8%, it sits close to the national mark.
