The Jan Shikshan Sansthan focuses non-formal skilling on dropouts and women who need a route back into livelihoods without returning to a classroom.
53% of registered enterprises are in services while 47% are in manufacturing. Only 30% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12).
In Phek, which ranks 10 of 17 in Nagaland for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 48.9 out of 100. It runs ahead of the national picture on women in the labour force at 67.1%. On skilling trainees who get certified at 98.8%, it sits close to the national mark.
