The Jan Shikshan Sansthan focuses non-formal skilling on dropouts and women who need a route back into livelihoods without returning to a classroom.

In Cuttack, which ranks 6 of 30 in Odisha for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 47.5 out of 100. It trails the national picture on women in the labour force at 37.9%. On skilling trainees who get certified at 94.5%, it sits close to the national mark.
