76% of registered enterprises are in services while 24% are in manufacturing. Only 4% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. 65% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12). Only 44% of ITI trainers are certified.
In Jajpur, which ranks 15 of 30 in Odisha for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 44 out of 100. It trails the national picture on skilling trainees who get certified at 86% and women in the labour force at 28.2%.
