Ajmer trains 381.4 youth per lakh under short-term skilling programmes, better than the typical district. 37.8% of young women aged 15 to 21 are out of education, behind the typical district. The Jan Shikshan Sansthan focuses non-formal skilling on dropouts and women who need a route back into livelihoods without returning to a classroom.
71% of registered enterprises are in services while 29% are in manufacturing. Only 5% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. 62% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12). Only 39% of ITI trainers are certified.
In Ajmer, which ranks 9 of 41 in Rajasthan for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 49.6 out of 100. On skilling trainees who get certified at 94.9% and women in the labour force at 48.8%, it sits close to the national mark.
