79% of registered enterprises are in services while 21% are in manufacturing. Only 5% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. 61% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12). Only 29% of ITI trainers are certified.
In Medak, which ranks 17 of 33 in Telangana for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 46.6 out of 100. It trails the national picture on self-employed workers at 70.7%. On skilling trainees who get certified at 96.1%, women-owned enterprises at 37.2% and young people in the labour force aged 15 to 29 at 45.8%, it sits close to the national mark.
