77% of registered enterprises are in services while 23% are in manufacturing. Only 2% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. Only 48% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12). Only 24% of ITI trainers are certified.
In Mulugu, which ranks 28 of 33 in Telangana for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 44.7 out of 100. It runs ahead of the national picture on ITI seats in government institutes at 100%. On skilling trainees who get certified at 92.4%, it sits close to the national mark.
