The Jan Shikshan Sansthan focuses non-formal skilling on dropouts and women who need a route back into livelihoods without returning to a classroom.
72% of registered enterprises are in services while 28% are in manufacturing. Only 7% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. Only 50% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12).
In West Tripura, which ranks 1 of 8 in Tripura for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 50.6 out of 100. It trails the national picture on women in the labour force at 39.6%. On skilling trainees who get certified at 95.5%, it sits close to the national mark.
