The Jan Shikshan Sansthan focuses non-formal skilling on dropouts and women who need a route back into livelihoods without returning to a classroom.
64% of registered enterprises are in services while 36% are in manufacturing. Only 2% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. Only 50% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12). Only 11% of ITI trainers are certified.
In Ambedkar Nagar, which ranks 45 of 75 in Uttar Pradesh for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 43.4 out of 100. On skilling trainees who get certified at 97.1% and women in the labour force at 45%, it sits close to the national mark.
