79% of registered enterprises are in services while 21% are in manufacturing. Only 3% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. Only 53% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12). 51% of ITI trainers are certified.
In Ayodhya, which ranks 11 of 75 in Uttar Pradesh for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 46.9 out of 100. It trails the national picture on ITI seats in government institutes at 20.6%. On skilling trainees who get certified at 92.4%, it sits close to the national mark.
