79% of registered enterprises are in services while 21% are in manufacturing. Only 3% of employment is in small and medium enterprises. Only 53% of school-age children are enrolled in higher secondary school (classes 9–12). 51% of ITI trainers are certified.
In Ayodhya, which ranks 11 of 75 in Uttar Pradesh for youth opportunity, the overall opportunity score is 46.9 out of 100. It trails the national picture on self-employed workers at 73.7%. On skilling trainees who get certified at 92.4%, women-owned enterprises at 22.1% and young people in the labour force aged 15 to 29 at 43.3%, it sits close to the national mark.
